Guilherme Miotto and Jack Gallagher both create a dance performance theater that challenges and innovates notions of form and consequence, behavior and effect. Dance, performance and theater are each uniquely defined in each of their signatures, and their mutual interests provide a wellspring of common ground. Both authors play a significant role in each others work, and yet maintain their own parallel paths of development. These two longtime friends and collaborators compliment and contrast each other in numerous ways and enjoy a continuously challenging artistic dialogue.
BODIES ANONYMOUS ‘pieces’ are composed and performed with the common goal of revealing unique varieties of human experiences. The works are collaborative in nature and often employ a inter/trans-disciplinary approach. Both Gallagher and Miotto are fascinated with the notion of an ‘interior realism’ and the formulation of temporary realities. The performance fundament consists in the unique reactions of each of their colleagues to the encounters proposed by the work.
